The team, consisting of Kathy Scheib, Connie Murdoch, Gayle Schwandt and Nancy Rowe, was awarded a set of dictionaries after being voted the most creative spellers by a selection of audience members

"BORED OF EDUKATION." Jennie Carlton, Chesaning Board of Education President, cheers for "The Champiens" at the February 22 adult spelling bee. The team included Chesaning Superintendent Kathy Stewart, board of education trustee Denise Edgar, secretary Kathy Wasmiller and Mary Eickholt, wife of the board's vice president. "It was an awesome event," said Stewart. "It was very well organized. You could just feel the energy and enthusiasm"
