Age 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. Bruce David McGrath was born in Flint on February 15, 1939 to Thomas and Mary (Decker) McGrath. He married Sandra Groendal on July 11, 1959, and she survives him. Bruce worked for 30 years at Metal Fabricating in Flint. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove, and of the Chesaning Area Model Flying Club. Bruce also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; four children, Terri (Joe) Lambert, Dave (Linda) McGrath, Tami (Jerry) Nielsen, Maryanne (Jeff) Burkett; seven grandchildren, Joe, Shain, Tasha, Don, Krista, Sarah and Garret; two sisters, Vida Hunt and Nancy Wetherholt; two brothers, Bill and Basil McGrath; many nieces and nephews, and his special friends, Russ and Judy. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Keith McGrath.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly officiated. LELAH JUANITA McKONE

formerly of Hazelton Township

Age 103, passed away on Monday evening, March 24, 2008 in Owosso at the home of her daughter, Joyce. She was born on August 16, 1904 in Hazelton Township to Earl and Mae (Amidon) Beamish. She married Ernest C. McKone on Jauary 1, 1923 in New Lothrop. They lived on Six Mile Creek Road for 40 years, then moved to Standish to the Whites Beach area. Ernest preceded her in death in August, 1973. Lelah was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, New Lothrop Chapter 312.

She is survived by her children, Carl (Ardeth) McKone, Beth LaRocque, Joyce (Curtis) Elliott, Joy (Mick) Longstreet, Peggy Prast, Bonnie (Eugene) Friend, and Rex (Janice) McKone; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons-in-law Don LaRocque and Otto Prast, grandson, Michael McKone, and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home, New Lothrop. Rev. Alfred Bell officiated, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Memorial Healthcare Hospice. Please share condolences at www.WMartinFuneralHome.com.
