Hunt garners 1st Team volleyball honors for Chesaning



CHESANING - Chesaning's Jill Hunt was named to the TVC First Team and five other Indians were accorded Honorable Mention in recent voting by the league's volleyball coaches.

Hunt was joined by teammates Stephanie Newman, Lindsay Harmon, Ciara Walser and Brooke Jastrzembowski in recognition for their outstanding seasons.

Hunt was a force at the net for Coach Pam Wesley's crew, driving home 128 kills among 284 total attacks during league play. Hunt also logged 64 service aces and recorded 22 solo blocks.

These five athletes keyed an strong showing for the Tribe in 2007, as the Indians went 52-23-2 while winning the Ithaca Sweetheart Tournament and finishing second at the Pioneer Sugar Invitational.

Chesaning's volleyball team also excelled in the classroom, being named Team Academic All-State.
