Tribe splits twin bill with B'ridge



CHESANING -Right fielder Jaxon Wirgau made a diving catch and then doubled up the runner on first base to cap a 6-2 win by the Chesaning varsity baseball team last Monday against visiting Breckenridge.

Wirgau's heroics helped the Indians salvage a split of the doubleheader. The Tribe dropped the opener to Breckenridge, 10-3.

Chesaning committed a whopping eight errors in Game One of the doubleheader and managed just two hits. Joe Devota and Troy Harmon had the only hits for the Indians.

Harmon allowed just three hits while earning the win in the nightcap. The Tribe only had three hits, keyed by Chuck Harris' two-RBI double in the first inning.
