He served in the U.S. Army, and married Jacquline Belanger on November 26, 1955 in New Lothrop, at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. William was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church of Ludington and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jacquline; their children, Luanne (Dan) Reinhart, Bill (Jean) Denton, Debbie (Ruben Garza) Novak, Diane (Dan) Robinette, Dan (Lisa) Denton, Dave (Julie) Denton, and Don (Charyl) Denton; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Jennifer Novak.

Memorial services for William were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008 at St. Simon Catholic Church, 702 E. Bryant St., Ludington, with Father Wayne Wheeler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Denton family. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
