GEORGE R. BEARDSLEE of New Lothrop



Age 90, went to heaven on Friday, April 18, 2008 in Flint, surrounded by his familyHe was born on October 12, 1917 in New Lothrop, the son of Frank and Jessie (Nunnamaker) Beardslee. He married Edith King on January 31, 1942 in Hattiesburg, Miss.

She survives him. George proudly served in the US Army during World War II in the 71st Evacuation Hospital Unit. He retired from Chevrolet Truck and Bus. He enjoyed being outdoors, planting a garden, golfing, fishing and hunting with special friends, Gary, Leo, Gary; special nephew Richard and special great nephew, Rick. He was known around Saginaw County as "the wood chuck man." George loved laughing, giving hugs and kisses to all his favorite grandchildren and all his four legged friends.

In addition to his wife, Edith, George is survived by their five children, Ann, Don (Inge), Patrick, Robert, Kathy Lynn; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathy Sue, Ted, Mike (Teresa), Tanya (John), Damon (Courtney), Ann (Charles), Chris, Jodi (Frank), Bryan (Heather); great-grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, David, Brandie, Kailee, Joey, Kimi, Sarah Ann, Missy, Sarah Rae, Lacie, Joshua, Jon Michael, Savanah, Heather, Jon, Jehnna, Jewel; great-greatgrandchildren, Natalee, Nolan, Justin, Michael, Trey, Hayden, Malaki, Kylah; brother, Alex (Harriet) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Ross; sister, Maude and great-great-granddaughter, Ilana.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the New Lothrop Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member his entire life.

Rev. Paul Brashaw officiated, with burial in Maple Grove Township Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home of New Lothrop. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Genesys Hospital and Hospice Care. www.WMartinFunera lHome .com.
