Shephard joins incumbent Bob Bell and newcomer Kevin Fesler in pursuit of two four-year seats. Current board secretary Mary Ellen Tithof decided not to seek re-election. Denise Edgar is on the ballot to finish the two years of the seat she was appointed to last year.

Voters wishing to cast a vote for Shephard must write her name in on the ballot under the section for the four-year term.

The public can learn more about the Chesaning candidates at a Meet the Candidates Forum sponsored by the Chesaning Area Task Force on Monday, April 30. The event will be held in the Chesaning Middle School media center from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

There is also a contested race in St. Charles. Incumbent Steven McNally will face John Howell for one two-year board of education seat. William Flattery, Duane Reyhl and former board member James Swartzendruber are seeking the four-year seat currently held by Jeff Tithof, who is not seeking re-election.

Incumbent Julie Root and Nancy Hall are seeking two four-year seats on the Montrose Board of Education. Incumbent Dave Swosinski is not pursuing re-election.

Curtis "Curt" Bitterman and incumbent Laura Birchmeier will be on the ballot for two four-year New Lothrop Board of Education seats. Current board member Steven "Skip" Quaderer opted not to seek re-election to the board.

Write-in candidates had until 4 p.m. on April 27 to file a Declaration of Intent. Write-in votes are only tabulated for candidates who file this form.
