Robert leaves behind his wife, Georgia; five daughters, Denise Muenink of Andrus, Texas, Gail Worley of Abilene, Texas, Kimberly McNiel of Burton, Kellie Kuhus of Davison, and Virginia Moore of Grand Blanc; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Palmquest and a brother, Bernard McNiel; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a foster brother and a nephew.

Funeral services were held at the church on the hill at Montrose Township Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 with Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes, Montrose Chapel.
