Sports PUBLISHED:
The Rams controlled most of the first half play and netted the first score eleven minutes into the contest, when Taryn Handyside's corner kick deflected off a Durand player and into the net. But with just under five minutes to the half, the Railroaders responded with a cross and redirection into the goal. Just a minute later, Durand finished off their win, converting on a corner kick for the goal that would carry them through for a win. Perrin said the entire team showed heart and desire in the tough loss; he said Shalynne Barron, Rachel Wing and Kayla Setzke all played well. "I feel real bad for the girls because that's a game they deserved to win," he said. "At the half we were in shock a bit because we had controlled play and then all of a sudden we were down 2-1. I learned, and the team learned, a lot about themselves with how we responded." The Rams host Lakeville on Tuesday and Caro on Thursday. Both matches begin at 4:30 p.m. |
