Local News PUBLISHED:
Thanks to a new initiative, The St. Charles Greenhouse Project, 13 master gardeners from Michigan State University Extension Services will join the beautification efforts. They will be introduced to students before the workday begins, before groups head out to their work sites. This year's design plan will follow a rain garden theme with purple and yellow hues. Organizers are hoping the community will support the project through both ideas and contributions. Suggestions and donations can be mailed to Beautification Day, St. Charles High School, 881 W. Walnut Street, St. Charles, MI 48655. Last year, the high school received a plaque honoring their efforts and a lifetime membership in Keep America Beautiful, Inc., which annually recognizes community and private programs that contribute to the beautification of the state. For more information, contact the St. Charles Community Services Center, (989) 865-2415.
