For the multimedia, web design, computer programming and desktop publishing categories students were required to compete in both on and off-site assignments. St. Charles took first place in multimedia and desktop publishing, and second place in web design and computer programming. The team also earned points in the additional categories. "This is a phenomenal accomplishment on our kids part," stated school Superintendent Mike Wallace. "To win in our very first year of competing shows tremendous effort by our students. I am so impressed by our small teams of two and three students who competed against larger teams from larger schools, some of which are class B. We are obviously very proud of these students and their work." Students competing for St. Charles included, Steve Cronk, Joe Flattery, and Trevor LeFevre in multimedia; Taryn Herbers, Drew Schafer, Brad Saunders, Joab Griffus, and Tyler Haney in desktop publishing; Adam Firmingham, Mitch Mikusek, Josh Larner, and John DeFore in web design; Mitch Mikusek, Adam Firmingham, and Tyler Haney in computer programming; Olivia Sieggreen, Melanie Sherman, Rachel Katch, Stephanie Olson spreadsheets; and Stephanie Gewirtz in database. Three members of the St. Charles team were selected for All-League Team honors. They include Steven Cronk, Adam Firmingham, and Mitch Mikusek. Joe Flattery, Trevor LeFevre, and Taryn Herbers were selected for Honorable Mention Team honors.
