Stephanie Miller's team played error-free ball in all but two innings, but miscues led to three Mustang runs in the fourth inning and three more in the top of the seventh.

"Our errors cost us the game, but I was glad to see the no-quit effort and our comeback rally in the last inning," commented Miller.

Down 6-0, the Rams rallied for all three of their runs in the bottom of the last frame, sparked by Samantha Emmendorfer's solo round-tripper. Emmendorfer registered a homer, double and single to pace the Ram offense. Tayler Kinder stroked a double and a single while Jill Emmendorfer, Amber Bouchard and Tiffany Peterson each collected a hit for Montrose, which outhit Clio, 8 to 7.

Kylie Adams threw the first four innings, yielding four hits and no walks while striking out four. Kyrie Diem pitched the final three innings, giving up four hits and a walk.

Montrose took on Chesaning at noon on Saturday in a district semi-final encounter at Bentley.
