Free flights for kids ages eight through 17 will be offered through the program which is an introduction to flight for young individuals in order to introduce them to aviation.

The program consists of a short talk regarding airplanes and how they work, controls, and then a 15-20 minute flight with a licensed pilot.

The program is scheduled to run from 8-11 a.m. A parent or guardian must attend with students to sign permission slips.

Students participating in the program will receive a certificate signed by Young Eagles Chairman, actor Harrison Ford, (of Indiana Jones fame), and will have their name permanently entered into the worlds largest logbook at the EAA Air Venture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

"Through the EAA Young Eagles Program we have an opportunity to demonstrate flying to our youth in a way that might not otherwise be possible and to infuse them with our enthusiasm for the experience," Harrison notes.

Ford is an active pilot with a passion for aviation, an EAA member, and a Young Eagles pilot.

The EAA Young Eagles Program has provided more than 1 million young people the experience of flight. Flights are free, safe, and flown by licensed and experienced pilots whose lives have been enhanced by aviation.

The leader in recreational aviation, EAA is an international association with 170,000 members and more than 1,000 local chapters.
