Four 'Dawg Diamondmen garner post-season honors



Freshman Dugan Roosa and junior Ryan Humpert each grabbed First Team spots on the TVC-West and All-District baseball team while teammates Brian Halas and Kyle O'Bryan also garnered post-season recognition as a result of their efforts during St. Charles' 2007 campaign.

Roosa logged a sizzling .463 batting average for Roger Henninger's Bulldogs, knocking in 21 runners and stealing 16 bases in the process to land on the league and district top teams as an infielder.

Humpert joined Roosa on the district and league teams as an outfielder. He hit a sturdy .354 with 22 RBI's and 21 stolen bases.

Halas, also just a junior, was accorded First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades for his work as the team's catcher. Halas hit .409 for the season with 17 ribbies and 19 stolen bases.

Senior Kyle O'Bryan received TVC Honorable Mention as an outfielder. O'Bryan was also named to the All-District Academic Team, where he was joined by teammates Kyle Byron, Brian Halas, Dustin McSweyn and Ryan Katch.

Byron received the prestigious Paul Farmer Award, which is given to the player who demonstrates a love for the game, commitment to the team and demonstrates strong leadership qualities. The award is in memory of Paul Farmer who played at St. Charles and graduated in 1981 before passing away the following fall.

The Most Improved Award went to Andy Cradit.
