Also elected on unanimous votes were Dave Eickholt, who was re-elected to continue to serve as vice-president, Kathy Wasmiller who was elected to serve as secretary, and Duane Ferry who was elected to the treasurer's post. Bob Bell, who in May was re-elected to the board to a four-year seat, Kevin Fesler, who was elected to the board in May to fill the four year seat vacancy left by retiring board member Mary Ellen Tithof who did not seek re-election, and Denise Edgar who was re-elected to the board in May to complete the final two years of the term she was previously appointed to, complete the group. Karen Quaderer was approved as the board's recording secretary for the 07-08 school year. Committee assignments were also approved at Monday's meeting. Kathy Wasmiller was appointed as the districts representative to the Saginaw County School Board Association (SCSBA) Legislative Committee while Kevin Fesler will serve as the districts representative on the SCSBA Board of Directors. Bob Bell will serve as alternate for the board of directors. Duane Ferry was appointed to serve on the Parks and Rec Committee and Denise Edgar will serve on the Human Sexuality Committee. Strategic Planning Committee members are Dave Eickholt, Jennie Carlton, and Duane Ferry. Also approved was the 2007-08 Board of Education meeting calendar. Meetings will be held on the following dates; August 13 and 20, September 10 and 17, October 8 and 15, November 12 and 19, December 10, January 14 and 21, February 18, March 10 and 17 April 14 and 21, May 12 and 19, June 9 and 16. Board retreats are scheduled for September 30, 2007 and February 2, 2008. In other action the board approved the painting of the fascia at Big Rock Elementary school at a cost of $10,000 The next meeting of the board will be a work session meeting in room 401 of the high school on Monday, August 13 beginning at 7 p.m. The next regular meeting of the board will take place on Monday, August 20 at 7 p.m. in the high school media center.
