The 36th Annual Montrose Blueberry Festival gets underway this week, running from Wednesday, August 15 through Sunday, August 19. Theme for the 2007 festival is "Wild, Wild, West" with activities and parades scheduled to revolve around that theme. The festival boasts a plethora of family friendly events including a carnival midway, an arts and crafts fair, sporting events, karaoke contests, a pie eating contest, a blueberry pancake breakfast, a pig roast, a mud bog and drag, a demolition derby, a canine competition, a book sale, and two parades. Live music is also available all five days. The Beautiful Baby and Kids Contest kicks off the festival Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m. at the Montrose Community Auditorium. Shown above is 2007 Blueberry Festival Queen Chelsie Hurst. Chelsie invites everyone to come out and have a "Rootin' Tootin' Good Time" at the festival.
