The new staff members were hired to fill voids left by retiring personnel. Also approved at the meeting was the contract for Scott Sawyer to continue as the district's Finance Director.

Sawyer, who has been filling the position since March of this year on a part-time interim basis, with that contract due to expire on August 30, will continue in the position through June 30, 2008.

The board voted to keep Sawyer in the position using the same schedule of 62 percent of his day spent in the business office. He will instruct high school math for the remaining 38 percent of the day.

Salary for the Finance Director position will remain pro-rated at 62 percent of a full-time salary of $65,000.
