Library Boosters plan charming event

Last week members of the Chesaning Area Friends of the Library gathered to craft wine glass charms for their upcoming wine tasting fundraiser on September 29. The 7 to 9 p.m. "Reading Between the Vines" event will raise funds for Friends projects, and will feature instruction by Sleno, a trained sommelier. Guests will sample and learn about basic wine varieties, how to differentiate and describe common flavors, and the rules of thumb for matching wine with food. Also on tap for the evening are light refreshments, live music and raffles. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple. They are on sale at the library or through any Chesaning Area Friends of the Library member. The event will be held at the Chesaning Public Library, 227 E. Broad Street. Space is limited, so wine connoisseurs and novices alike are urged to buy their tickets soon.
