EDWINA M. HEMKER
St. Charles

Age 94, passed away on Sunday morning, August 26, 2007 at the Cartwright Care Center, Saginaw. She was born on April 14, 1913 in Albee Township, the daughter of George and Mary (Groll) Ebenhoeh. She married Wellman Hemker on May 6, 1939, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1968. Edwina was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Albee and the League of Catholic Women. She also belonged to the Albee Senior Friends. She is survived by her children, James and Cathy Hemker, of St. Charles, Donald and Betty Hemker, of Burt, Marlene and Joseph Jungerheld, of Chesaning, Richard and Jackie Hemker, fo Saginaw, Robert and Karen Hemker, of Montrose, and Douglas and Mary Hemker, of St. Charles; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wellman, and brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Emma Ebenhoeh. Funeral liturgy was held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church of Albee. Rev. Fr. Todd Arnberg officiated, with burial in St. Marys Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cartwright Care Center, VNA Hospice or St. Marys Church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Walker-Martin Funeral Home of Chesaning. MARY BLEISNER
Chesaning

Age 91, passed away Thursday morning, August 30, 2007 at the Chesaning Nursing Care Center. She was born on November 25, 1915 in Chesaning, the daugher of Warren and Dorothea (Schmiege) Brainerd. She was a member of the Chesaning High School Class of 1933. Those left to mourn her include her children and their spouses: William (Ruth Ann) Bleisner, of Chesaning, Elaine (Charles) Sadilek, of Chesaning, Paul (Priscilla) Bleisner, of Oakley, Joyce (Thomas) Collard, of Owosso, Jean (Ronald) Devereaux, of Brant, Carol (Phillip) Schmiege, of Oakley; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Matthew, in 1986, her son, Jack, in 1973, her sister, Elsie Thormeier and her brother, August Brainerd. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chesaning. Pastor Joel W. Thomford officiated, with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning.
