Obituaries PUBLISHED:
Age 50, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich. He was born on December 30, 1956 in Flint, the son of David and Norma Sue (Haywood) Robbins. He had resided in the Montrose area for the past seven years, coming from Flint. Steve married Terry L. Meyerhofer on August 16, 1985. He was employed with Blevins Screw Products in Flint. He enjoyed building computers, model airplanes, working on his house and cars and fishing. He was also a licensed ham radio operator. He is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Stephani Robbins; four step-children, Erica Robbins, Douglas Ranger, Megan Ranger and Patricia Ranger; three grandchildren, Matthew, David and Elijah; mother, Norma Sue (David) Ellington. Sr.; father, David (Helen) Robbins; brothers, Michael Robbins, John (Penelope) Robbins and Robert Robbins; two step-brothers, David (Cheri) Ellington and Douglas Ellington; step-sister, Tina (Bill) Taylor; and longtime friends, Gary Hatch and Jerry (Dini) Wolmawitz. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. Jim Gosnell officiated, with burial at Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hurley-Cancer Institute. DOUGLAS J. REED New Lothrop Age 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, Ind. Douglas J. Reed was born on February 2, 1932, in Flushing, to the late Randolph and Gertrude (VanValkenburg) Reed. He married Louisa Pratt in October 20, 1962. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2004. Douglas had been employed with GM as a relief operator, retiring on October 1, 1991. He was an active member of the New Lothrop Nazarene Church. Douglas is survived by one daughter, Joy and Rev. Donald Bolinger, of Indianapolis, Ind.; one son, Alfred and Julie Reed, of New Lothrop; five grandchildren, Josiah, Rebekah, Andrew, Alexandria and Alfred II; and several brothers and sisters. Besides his wife and parents, Douglas was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007, at the New Lothrop Nazarene Church. Rev. Paul Brashaw will officiate, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
