"Ever since I started here Ive been hearing her coworkers call her the miracle worker," said interim Postmaster Donald Miller who is filling in for Postmaster Judy Haggadone who is on leave. According to her coworkers, Bruff is known as their miracle worker due to her outstanding work ethic and willingness to do whatever needed to be done, including carrying routes when carriers were absent. "She would come in in the morning and sort the mail, and if we were short a carrier and there was an open route she would case (prepare the mail for) the route, carry the route, and still do all her work," noted Miller. Coworkers also noted that Bruff often performed many supervisor responsibilities and has several times filled in when the office was without a Postmaster. Her last stint as interim Postmaster lasted 14 months. Bruff began her career with the USPS in the Davison office and has spent the past 35 years at the Chesaning office. During her first 25 years at the Chesaning office she operated a walking route. She has served as a Postal Clerk for the past ten years. "Working at the Chesaning Post Office Ive gotten to know so many of the residents of my home town that I never would have met otherwise," Bruff noted. "I really miss my customers already." During her time with the Chesaning Post office Bruff was honored twice for "going above and beyond." She was first honored by then Postmaster Ron Lawrey and received the same award from current Postmaster Judy Haggadone. A lifelong resident of Chesaning, Bruff graduated from the former St. Michaels Catholic School. She and her husband Gregory have been married for 36 years and have three sons, Greg and wife Nicki, Gary and wife Tracy, and Neil and wife Jamie. The Bruffs' have five grandchildren, Jacob, Caitlyn, Emma, Lily, and Alexis. |
