Montrose Twp. to hold CDBG hearing Oct. 16

MONTROSE -- The Charter Township of Montrose will hold a Community Development Citizen Needs Hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the township hall, 139 S. Saginaw St., Montrose.

The purpose of the hearing is to obtain citizen needs and project proposals concerning use of the Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the 2007 program year.

Montrose Township expects to receive approximately $58,000 in 2007 CDBG funds for the program year beginning May 1, 2007. The funds are provided by the Genesee County Community Development Program from an annual entitlement grant received from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The funds are intended primarily for physical development projects in low and moderate income neighborhoods.
