Obituaries PUBLISHED:
Age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the West Branch Regional Medical Center, West Branch. She was born on October 3, l931 in Owosso, the daughter of Lyman & Bertha (Moffit) Richter. She was married to Leroy Herbers and Orin Jones, they have both preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Tony (Sue) Herbers of Elmira, David (Teresa) Herbers of Oakley, Judy Potter of Prescott, and Donald Herbers of Houghton Lake; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances (Steve) Niko of Oscoda, and Shirley (Bernard) Albring of Ashley; two brothers, William (Shirley) Richter of Clio, and David (Marge) Richter of Montrose. She was preceded in death by her husbands and her parents, along with a son, Gary Herbers, two sisters, Virginia Debarr and Betty Herbers, and three brothers, Richard, Jack and Robert Richter. Funeral service was held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning. The Rev. Frank Ward officiated, with burial in Brant Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
FAYE WILLACKER Birch Run Age 83, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper after a lengthy illness. Faye Herrick was born on March 6, 1924 in Hill City, Minn. She lived in Chesaning for many years before moving to Birch Run. She was married to Richard Willacker for 34 years, he preceded her in death in 1976. She was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, and loved spending time with her grandchildren, crafts and sewing. Those left to mourn her include her six children, Elizabeth (Wolfgang) Franke, Nicholas (Shirley) Willacker, Lynda (Richard) Beyer, and Randal (fiancÈ Mary) Willacker, all of Chesaning, Michael (Maureen) Willacker of Albee Twp., and Tamara (Timothy) Bender of Birch Run; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Lombard of California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, along with a daughter, Lisa Marie Willacker, four sisters, and two brothers. Funeral service was held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Burial was at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Maple Grove. LYLE J. WILHELM Grand Blanc Age 85, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc. Lyle was born on April 6, 1922 in Grand Blanc, son of the late Alvin and Ersel (Hall) Wilhelm. He married Evelyn I. Mepham on August 25, 1951, and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2001. He served his country during World War II. Lyle worked as an inspector for AC Spark Plug. After retirement, he worked at Mott Farms. Lyle is survived by his borther, Marion and Dian Wilhelm, of Brant; many nieces and nephews; two aunts, Irene Bott and Emaline Hall; and his special friends and neighbors, the Slater family. Besides his wife and parents, Lyle was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning. Rev. David Kimball will officiate, with burial at Ridge Road Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007, and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. FRANCES F. GILLETT New Lothrop Age 95, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007. Frances was born on December 23, 1911 to the late Albert and Emma (Miller) Ryefield in Muskegon. She married Forest W. Gillett in New Lothrop on August 20, 1942. Forest preceded her in death on June 22, 1977. Frances is survived by her special family, Mike Lare and family, Brad and Natalie Arthur and a special friend, Pauline. Besides her husband and parents, Frances was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007, at Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home in New Lothrop. Rev. Paul Amstutz will officiate, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 21, 2007, from 1 to 8 p.m., and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
