DOROTHY M. (BUECHE) GILLEAN

Gladwin, formerly of Montrose, Chesaning Age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at her home. She was born on March 27, 1938 in Chesaning, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Hallerbach) Bueche. She married Charles Gillean in 1991, and he preceded her in death in 2002. Dorothy loved quilting, sewing and playing cards and games with her family. She was well known for her home-cooked meals. She had also worked for Crossroads Cafe in Oakley.

She is survived by her six children, Cynthia Allison, of Alabama, John Martin, of Saginaw, James Martin, of Alabama, Tom Martin, of Ohio, Robert (Sandy) Martin, fo Ovid, and Laura (Terry) Kerby, of St. Johns; four grandchildren; her siblings, Bob Bueche, of Montrose, Art (Donna) Bueche, of Chesaning, Mary (Frank) Hayes, of Albee Township, Jean (Harold) Conley, of Saginaw, Irene Wright, of Florida; also many nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren; and her special friend, Archie Corlew, of Gladwin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Matias Palacio; brother, Charles, son-in-law, Don Allison; and sister-in-law, Delores Bueche.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie officiated, with interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. www.wmarinfuneralhome.com.

SAMUEL E. KLOPP

Chesaning

Age 84, loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Luther Manor Nursing Home in Saginaw. Samuel E. Klopp was born on September 3, 1923, the son of the late Samuel A. and Mary (Modrich) Klopp in Detroit. He married Madeline Schultz. Samuel bravely served his country in the U.S. Army, 96th Infantry during World War II in Okinawa and the Phillipines, during which time he was awarded two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Sam graduated from the Wilbur Wright Trade School in Detroit. He worked for GM Fisher Body Division for 31 years.

Sam will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Madeline; his daughter, Laura (Ernest) Beckman; granddaughter, Amy Beckman; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine, and a daughter, Edith Kemppainen.

Funeral liturgy was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Chesaning. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie officiated, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning. PHILLIP A. HARRIS

Maple Grove Township

Age 93, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital in Saginaw. Phillip A. Harris was born on February 8, 1914in Maple Grove Township, the son of the late William and Mary (Laux) Harris. He married Viola Van Aken on June 12, 1937, and she survives him. Phil worked at General Motors for 40 years and farmed for 55 years. He was a life-long member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Viola Harris; three children, William Harris, of Chesaning, George Harris, and Rosemary Sprague, both of Harrison; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Phil was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Joe Harris, and a son-in-law Warren Sprague.

Funeral liturgy was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly officiated, with burial at St. Michael Cemetery.
