LLOYD D. ELLIS

Chesaning

Age 71, passed away Monday afternoon, November 26, 2007 at the Memorial Healthcare, Owosso. He was born on May 16, 1936, the son of James and Hazel (Horn) Ellis. He married Marva Jean Bremer on August 2, 1958, and she survives him. Lloyd graduated from St. Charles High School and attended Ferris State University. He retired from Dow Corning, Hemlock, where he worked as a lab technician. Lloyd was a member of Zion Lutheran all his married life and raised his family in the church. He was a Chesaning volunteer fireman, town councilman and an avid woodworker and gardener. He hunted, fished and enjoyed waters sports at their family cottage at Prudenville/Houghton Lake.

Surviving besides his wife of 49 years are their children, Kathy and George Provorse, of Clio, Kelly and Charles Peterson, of St. Johns, Jeanne Ellis and her friend Larry Watters, of Owosso; nine grandchildren: Tina, Jason, Chase, Connor Lloyd, Niki, Chandler, Krysti, Tayln and Hanna; five sisters, Ann Bush, of Saginaw, Hazel and Don Adams, of Chesaning, Jeanne and William Tilghman, of Florida, Virginia and Theodore Berg, of California, and Nancy (Pat) Ellis, of California; two brothers, Keith and Ann Ellis, of Texas, and Richard Ellis, of St. Charles; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Dean Ellis.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chesaning. Pastor Joel W. Thomford officiated, with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning. BYRON E. CLARK

Oakley

Passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison in Saginaw. He was the son of the late Edward and Daisy Clark. Byron had served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Oakley-Brady Fire Department and had been on the Oakley Village Council.

Surviving are his wife, Julie; daughter, Malinda (Carmen) Purdy and grandson, Adam; also a sister, Margaret Jordan.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning.

SIDNEY W. MORSE

Montrose

Age 74, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center. Sidney was born on March 5, 1933 in Flushing Township, to the late Silas and Fern (Lee) Morse. He had resided in the Montrose area for most of his life. Sidney married Lucille "Jane" Unger on April 21, 1951 in Flushing. Sid was a sergeant with the Montrose Fire Department, having served over 30 years. He was a Past Master of the Montrose Masonic Lodge #428 F & AM, had served on the Blueberry Festival; and also served on the Montrose Township Board for over 20 years. Mr. Morse retired from Buick in 1987 and also owned a garage door business for 30 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the UAW Local #599.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; children, Lori Morse, of Montrose, Jenifer Short, of Montrose, Becky (Brian) Ducham, of Montrose, Joe (Crystal) Morse, of Jenison; 14 grandchildren; sister, Florence (Ray) Brown, of Montrose; brothers, Arnold (Louise) Morse, of Ohio, twin brother, Darwin (Barbara) Morse, of Montrose, Ralph (Rose) Morse, of Grand Blanc; daughter-in-law, Nancy Morse, of Montrose; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Morse, in 2007; daughter, Debra Morse, in 1971; grandson, Gabriel Morse, in 1981; granddaughter, Maddison Morse, in 1998; sisters, Lorraine Staley and Sarah Jo Morse; and brother, Loren J. Morse.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial was at Montrose Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements were entrusted to the O'Guinn Family Funeral Homes, Montrose Chapel. RAYMOND W. DOW

Montrose

Age 57, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2007 at his residence. Ray was born on July 15, 1950 in Rockland, Maine, to the late Robert and Helen (Holbrook) Dow. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Ray married Pamela Cook on December 18, 1989 in New Hampshere. He had been a truck driver for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Pam; children, Michael Zuwala, Duane Zuwala and Adam Zuwala, all of Montrose; grandson, Ashton Zuwala; brothers and sister, Alan, Carl, Anthony, Clyde and Carla. A son, Raymond II, also preceded him in death.

Military services will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. Contributions may be made to the family.
